Born in the U.S., Michael Phelps was undisputed figure of the past Olympic Games in Beijing, having received in his neck no less than eight gold medals.

Phelps is a declared poker player, but he had never lifted a lot of attention from an audience that is not considered more than an occasional player.

A few days ago, the prominent U.S. athlete Michael gave samples of his skill in making the cards table in a tournament quienentos thousand dollars from Caesars Palace Poker Classic where he became a creditor of the interesting sum of 5213 U.S. dollars.

As a result, the athlete has publicly stated its intention to participate in the WSOP 2009 rioja that almost certainly will generate great expectation among the gambling houses, who want to bring it at all costs to their tables. Besides appearing in the press as Phelps has signed an exclusivity agreement to follow up on video with Card Player. So we could be talking about an integration of the swimmer in the world of poker, maybe it’s as good as in the tables in the water, just have to wait.
